Guardian Posted July 28, 2012 Report Share Posted July 28, 2012 The general cycling events at the 2012 Summer Olympics begin with the road races and its respective time trials for men and women. After these events are concluded, the track events take over at the velodrome venue, from August 2 to 7. Once they are done, the individual BMX races (men and women) start on August 8 to 10. Finally, the men's and women's cross-country mountain bike racing will be held in the last two days of Olympic competition. Also, the men's road race event will be the first one, in this sport, to hand out the Olympic medals, on July 28. July 29 will be the medal race for the women's road race event. August 1 will be handing out medals to both men's and women's individual time trials.
