The Ruskies will put on a big show for sure. Can't wait to see what they deliver.

Do we have any idea of Ceremonies Team, Director or producers?
I know that DAE is doing quite a bit of work in Russia atm especially with some of the multimedia companies doing work for sochi.
Could DAE be involved?

I don't think Sochi will top Vancouver or London.

Have you seen Putin's inauguration? They love pomp, and will do everything to make London's OC look like a children's party...

Yeah. Just watch Moscow 1980 ceremonies. By 2014, it will be 34 years since they last had their turn at lavish spectacle. It will probably be the winter equivalent of Beijng's.

Famous last words.
Sochi 2014 will be THE Olympic Ceremony of the 2010's, in a similar way that Beijing was it for the 2000's. I'd be willing to bet Rio might even come close to the pomp and pageantry the Russians are planning.

Russia is taking the torch into space. What they're planning for their opening God only knows!
Of course, it's a 40k capacity stadium so it may feel smaller just because of that. Maybe they'll use the whole park, especially given how open the stadium is.

I said that cuz Turin's director is doing this one which is the worst one out of 2002-2012 IMO. Or do I have the wrong ceremony?
