Oh, Torch...you're so narrow and limited in your interpretations.  Expand...dramatize... That's what theatre is about.  ANd the Olympics are all about theatre.

We have to remember that the 2012 Games are seven years away and plans are bound to change, as they did in Athens, as circumstances allow.

THen if it's a well thought-out bid, and the planners have the correct foresight, and are not promising more than they can deliver, they should include those contingencies, unaccountables in there.  That way there are no morning-after surprises for everyone concerned.

For goodness' sake this is pathetic.

Baron, you have taken an article which suggests something may happen in the future and attempted to present it as some kind of smoking gun akin to finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

The article is pure speculation. It doesn't even have a comment from London 2012! Now can you please stop this sore loser performance. It is boring.

Sorry, but London 2012's preparations WILL exceed the amounts professed to the IOC, but in reality every bid and host has had that happen. It's common knowledge between the bids, the IOC, and governments that "Yeah. We'll TRY for this much..."  :;):

Several hosts have produced profit, but none have stuck to original plans and have had to use different avenues several times in order to end out making profit in a long run. Regardless of profit, a bid can still be high risk if many changes are inevitable. Since changes ARE inevitable anyways, it's unrealistic to base expectations on that of the bid in this stage. So please, try to take the punches as they come along and don't just get upset about them!  :wwww:

It's very difficult to make a good budget 7 years before the games.

Not if you have a good Organizing Committee.

Building costs always overrun in Britain (scot parliment, wembley, etc) but at least everything gets finished, unlike most of the Athens venues

As long as none of the venues *look* like the Scottish Parliament.

*shudder.*

What a hideous thought.

Isn't that an implicit admission that Arse**l are a one-man team NYCD 2012?

Anyway, don't be so sure:
Henry could be out of Spurs derby
