I think it would be good to talk about what you shouldn't forget to put into your suitcase, when you are going to London during the Olympics...

I mean e.g.

- a rain shield?

- sunglasses?

- sun protection?

- small binoculars?

etc. etc.

Or something else - are there recommendations of people, who attended Olympic Games before - what you have to prepare in before?

It's London, so number one ....

AN UMBRELLA!

.... and then maybe gourmet food, like Vegemite and Finnish cuisine.

I hope there is a small place for Tim Tams in your suitcase, too!

We have those in Canada too, good.

Bring a very good, comfortable pair of shoes for all the walking.

I've just bought a small solar powered charger for my battery draining iPhone. Perfect when stuck in the middle of the Olympic park and no where to charge up. It works really well. http://www.paramount...er.htm#divVideo

Another thought for all our friends from overseas would maybe buy a UK pay as you go sim card to keep your UK calls and data usage costs down.

Only 98 days to go, can't wait to receive my tickets and only 10 days until I pick up my Games Maker uniform and Accreditation!

Hope to bump into some of you guys along the way :)

I would take binoculars with me -- I had mine with me for the IAAF World Championships in Berlin and I could use them very well. Even if those venues are smaller than they appear on television, some details can be missed easily.

And I don't know whether you like that -- but maybe a German flag, at least when you're watching events with German athletes. Our team will be the smallest since re-unification, so it will need every support it can get! :D

By the way: flags...

Are flags on a staff allowed in a venue or just a flag without a staff?

Usually flagpoles are not allowed... and it will not be easy to carry all along the day with you...

So a small or medium size one (or ones, if you bring some of your favorite teams), that you will fold in your backpack will be enough....
