I don't think multiple votes should be allowed, especially consdering they were not allowed in the first round. I voted for Nicole, sublime.

The Persian name was Dersaadet—Door to the Ultimate Happiness. The Greeks called it Teofilaktos—City Guarded by God; the Romans, Nuova Roma—New Rome; the Arabs, Farrouk—City Separating Two Continents; and the Ottoman Turks, Ummti-diinya—Mother of the World. Now, and since 1923 when the Turkish Republic formally renamed it, it is called Istanbul, meaning just The City—as though there were none other to compare.

The 80's was much tougher for me as this was the decade that got me hooked on Eurovision.

This is my Top 5:

5- Switzerland - Celine Dion - Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi (not one of the best Eurovision wins, but certainly a very good one)

4 - Norway - Bobbysocks - La Det Swinge (the year my Eurovision obsession started, such memories, loved the hand actions)

3 - Sweden - Herreys - Diggiloo Diggiley (they has my 3rd place for the gold boots alone) :D

2 - Belgium - Sandra Kim - J'aime La Vie (wonderful and iconic, Eurovision gold)

1 - Germany - Nicole - Ein Bisschen Frieden (perfection, absolutely adore Nicole. I even visited her home city of Saarbrücken)

I voted for "What's Another Year". It's such a relaxed and somewhat timeless tune -- even if some of the orchestration was very contemporary, of course. I would still want to listen to it on the car radio nowadays, also in a more modern arrangement.

"La Det Swinge" is a catchy fun song and "Hold Me Now" "Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi" are great dramatic Eurovision hymns, but I wouldn't want to listen to them all the time privately.

The other winning songs of that decade rather make me cringe, I have to say. That's why I also found it awful that until 2010, that schmaltzy "Ein bisschen Frieden" was our only ESC winning song. It certainly struck a nerve with all people who were frightened of atomic war and/or opposed the nuclear armament back then. But nevertheless, it drips with schmaltz.
Euphoria!

Lycka till, Loreen! (representing Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012)

I voted for Bobbysocks because in the words of Lil Lindfors they 'really deserve it'.

1986 was my first that I remember. I only saw the voting in 1989 because my parents sent me to bed, not realising that I loved Eurovision. I came running downstairs when I heard the votes being read. I missed 2002 because I was in Japan and couldn't even see it online but otherwise I have seen every contest since then (I saw 2003 and 2004 online in Japan, starting at 4am).

I used to know every song and statisitic but now with so many songs and national finals with multiple rounds and so many entries I find it a bit difficult to keep up with everything.
