The 57th Eurovision Song Contest is a matter of months away in the Azerbaijani capital Baku.

As part of the preperations for the upcoming Gamesbids Eurovision Song Contest and Sweepstake, here on Gamesbids we shall find the best Eurovision winner.

Bearing in mind that the majority of our members started watching the contest in the seventies, i am starting the quest at this decade.

A series of polls will find the top two songs from each decade, who will then compete in a final poll to find the Gamesbids best Eurovision winner.

As this decade has only had two winners, the 2010 and 2011 winners will automatically make the final poll to make it fair.

So we will have the best of the 70's, 80's, 90's and noughties, to which the top two from each decade will compete against the others in a ten song final.

So to kick things off, lets decide our best winning song from the 70's. Here is a video to remind everyone of the winners:

We will give each poll, a few days, before voting will close.

Whatever you may think of this, it is just a bit of fun, and to draw more awareness of the contest and as i said to the future comp and sweepstake.

Thanks Guys and let the voting begin!!!

It's so hard to vote against Waterloo. What an amazing song it was. Nice idea, Scotguy!

lol.... against waterloo no chance for others..
The Persian name was Dersaadet—Door to the Ultimate Happiness. The Greeks called it Teofilaktos—City Guarded by God; the Romans, Nuova Roma—New Rome; the Arabs, Farrouk—City Separating Two Continents; and the Ottoman Turks, Ummti-diinya—Mother of the World. Now, and since 1923 when the Turkish Republic formally renamed it, it is called Istanbul, meaning just The City—as though there were none other to compare.

the winning country has the right to host the next year, but in the past were examples where another country jumped in

Yes, with about 5 exceptions in the 60's and 70's.
