U have about the same population as Austria; so you could stage a WOGs...but then again, you'd need the 800m drop mountains. I'd say Azerbajian is better off just hosting a YOGs or an IOC Session. Those do not require populations of at least 15 million.

People, and places like Doha, forget that aside from all the stadia, hotels and practice venues, the host country must also have some 30-40 colleges and universities with ample sports facilities because the top 30-40 countries require a training base in the weeks leading up to the Games. So again, a small country like Azerbajian, the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Qatar, etc., do NOT have that congolomeration of 30-40 colleges to provide the training bases.

But remember Azerbaijan is groing fast. It seems a Youth Olympics there will seem good, and for winter games it won't be so good choose AZE.
