The results were:
RobH: 10
Daveypodmore: 8
Paul: 7
Danny: 5*
*amended result

As previously mentioned in the voting thread, I did NOT count those votes cast by members 2018, rajk, beeton and 1234.

Sorry everyone for the false start. Seems we were collateral damage from Baron’s and bgdrewsif’s flame wars. Not happy!!!
I’ll just say to them now, if you gotta fight, don’t do it here. Find another thread or start your own to squabble.

Anyway, back to business. Round Three of the GamesBids New York City 2024 Olympic Summer Games Host Logo Contest is now open (again).

Here's the rules again (including a new rule):
  • Vote in the poll for your favourite logo.
  • You have one vote.
  • Your vote is public and can be seen by all.
  • Entrants MAY vote for their own logo.
  • Votes are valid if cast be members of GamesBids as of January 1, 2012.
  • Votes will NOT be counted from members with no posting history.
  • I will rule on the validity of any other suspicious or disputed votes.
  • I will not vote in this, or any subsequent rounds, unless a tie-breaker vote is needed in a tied elimination round or the final round.
  • This vote will be open for (a bit over) 24 hours - it will close no later than 9am, Monday January 16, Sydney time.
  • The bid with the lowest number of votes is eliminated in each round.
  • In the event of a tie for final place, the tied entries will face each other off in an elimination tie-break vote.
  • Voting will be conducted in rounds until one entry has an absolute majority and is declared the winner.

Try to be fair and sportsmanlike, this is meant to be fun. The entrants all deserve our respect. No disputes are to be aired in this thread - If any contenders have any complaints or disputes, PM me.

Good luck and may the best logo win!

Oh, and sorry, I'd cut out my valediction to Danny's logo I had in the original thread. I reckon in past years that would have been a winner Danny, but the standard and competition has risen in the past few comps and everyone's a tough race now. You did great making it to the final - everyone's logo which who dropped these days is a great logo.

Scandal, drama, controversy. We're almost getting more FIFA here than IOC!

Yep, thanks for getting this back on track (again!)

RE: Danny's logo. As I said before, as a concept it was one of the best. Simple vertical brushstrokes in Olympic colours and it gets the message across very economically. Very nice.

Am happy to share the podium with Davey after seeing his legendary signatures over the past couple of years, and with Paul who is becoming something of a legend in these comps.

Just so the umpire is aware, Krow's already been shamelessly fishing for compliments via PM so I can get his vote. I don't mind, and I'm not one for innuendo, so let's just say I gave him one. I see Davey's handing out free banners which I think is very close to the line. I'll be keeping an eye but won't be ruling out an official complaint. ;) <_< :D <_<

Anyway, vote for me! And do have a butcher's at the extra PDF materials I spent many weeks slaving over for you lucky, lucky people - http://bit.ly/wcrw88

Best of luck to all!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty happy on joining the comp and being the part of it, bidding and voting.
Despite some bad posting around (and this really happened during my sleep hours cancelling the previous thread), this have been a very nice comp, and very well organized, specially during the unecessary moments we had.
Thanks again, Rols for great organization!

---

My vote goes to Paul, the best logo between the three left, IMHO.
The other two entrants are very interesting design, but does not fit in some Olympic brand to me.
That's my vote. Good luck for everybody!

Thank you, Rob, for the feedback and good luck with your entry.
I didn't vote for it, but, no doubts, it's a innovative design and very interesting, but I'm a bit traditionalist and Paul fits better my taste.
Still, you "Be Greater" banner is the best one in the comp... By far!

GBForums have been boring lately... Miss the good discussions and points. The nice follow-ups on buildings and so on...
Now we have only chat with trolls or weeks without the old good boys posting...
So I'm giving a break, but I'll be back soon. Meanwhile I'll be around in SkyScrapercity, where no trolling and city vs. city is allowed.
