So cinemagraphs are nothing more than an animated gif file, which have been around for ages. But the trick is that only *part* of the image is animated. If you do some googling, you can find some really fantastic work out there. I expect it to catch on beyond digital art nerdos and move into the marketing world.

For those familiar with Harry Potter, it's basically like a moving painting. More often than not, I find them to be very calming, as they usually depict smooth, fluid, cyclical motion.

Anyway, I started trying them out and I made one of the Athens flame from 2004. Hope you enjoy.
