/\/\ Thank you very much for posting the above, SwissO!! (It brings back memories of my trip to Olympia (and Athens) in summer 2010!)

(Note: the Panathinaikos Stadium Torch collection, see end of video, apparently only presents the Summer torches, NOT the winter ones. Maybe they're hocking the Winter torches to help with the national debt!   )

I like the visual look, somehow reminds me of Old-school 8 and 16 bit Mario World... brings back positive childhood video game memories :D

As for the torch design, I am happy to see that the expense of a total redesign was not made... the basic shape of the YOG torch should just be part of a handover package carried from one YOG to the next and each organizing committee can use whatever color/graphic template they wish on top of the basic torch shape. One of the big purposes of the YOG was supposedly to reduce costs and handing off the basic torch from one host to the next would be a big help in that goal. Besides, seeing the Singapore and Innsbruck torches side by side they look absolutely nothing alike aside from the physical shape, so they are each very reflective of each games visual identity. But not having to spend many thousands of dollars on design, engineering, and manufacturing processes for a brand new torch design every 2 years would greatly reduce costs.

Although i'm not interested much with these WYOG, I gotta admit the visual identity (except the logo) is pleasing. Me being a fan of videogames, can't help but like the pixelated look. :P

By the way that cauldron behind looks a lot like the Bergisel Stadium one (on where the ceremonies will be done..wonder how they'll make it with such a tiny space)

Also, don't forget Guadalajara 2011. They kinda recycled the YOG torch base as well although with some minor changes

Same goes for Guangzhou 2010 Torch.

Maybe because the four torches were made by chinese company Vatti.

That's probably the cheapest place to get several hundreds of torches now. It's where cheap Chinese labor comes in.

What are you talking about? It already arrived in Vienna when it was flown from Athens.
