Romney just sticks his finger to the wind to determine what he will say. I don't think he has any real convictions on the issues, but rather will say what is opportune for the moment. I don't think Romney is crazy like Bachmann, Cain, Perry or Santorum, but I can't imagine him leading this country, let alone our military.

Anyway, I don't like debating politics, because I see it as pointless. So I will leave it at that.

I just would like the 30 or 40 people from around the world the read these forums to know that there is incredible discontent with the performance of the current president. There is a feeling that he fooled the world and particularly the US (and a LOT of young people) into believing a dream about HOPE and CHANGE that turned out not surprisingly to be a trendy tag line that caught fire and fizzled to nothing but politics as usual.

This president and the democratic party held TOTAL control of government for 2 year before the 2010 mid term elections when the Republican party made record gains to re-capture control of the Senate, and came VERY close to regaining control of the House of Representatives, I think only by 1 or 2 members.

During the 2 years of TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL Mr Obama had EVERY opportunity to accomplish anything he and the democratic representatives wanted and to enact any program of reform, rebuilding, re-whatever to make the HOPE and CHANGE happen. 2 FULL YEARS OF TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL. For that we have Obamacare and 26 or 28 states are suing the government to overturn, it will go to the supreme court this summer and should an explosive element to what will already be a nuclear thermal campaign.

We hired an inexperienced celebrity candidate with a compelling story that sold everywhere for a while, he was the Kim Kardashian of political fluff and now he just seems unhappy to have what he wanted. This guys is FAMOUS now around town for NOT liking or wanting to interact with people. He is more and more isolated form anyone except his closest advisers, he is sheltered and rolled out for B/S speeches and other engagements that he is expected to attend but is fully unavailable for meetings, cooperation, communication and interaction that EVERY other president has taken part in as a minimum.

Something is wrong with this guy and nothing is getting done.

/\ Oh please, 747.

2 years? Well, who was in power for the previous 8 years?

If you expect things to fix themselves in 2 years' time, then I have a bridge in Hoboken to sell you

Don't insult people's intelligence. I am sure people can read in between the lines and connect the dots on their own.

I think part of the problem is people are not reading between the lines and do not fully realize that Obama had absolutely no opposition for 2 year had every oportunitu to live up to his hype and PROVE he was the mesia.

During his first TWO year Mr Obama had TOTAL and COMPLETE CONTROL of Government, with majorities in the House of Representatives AND The Senate.
That mean he had TWO YEARS to enact ANYTHING THEY WANTED to resolve problems. What did he do? Obamacare only, what about the economy? He was distracted by his pet project and neglected or ignored the economy. If he could do any bit of the things he said he would this was his opportunity, but he didn't know what to do.

The critical last 2 year of George Bush, Democrats were in control and BOTH the House and Senate, this was not a BUSH only Government but TOTAL Democratic Congress during the most critical TWO year that lead up to the OBAMA CONTROL era.

Now we are here, Obama was unable to lift the economy with ideas or experience. His myriad of failed administrative appointees and staff are never discussed but swept away into oblivion (or Chicago politics), he is a failed manager. We have limped back over government overreach and inexperience to a fragile point of stagnant growth with little respect round the world. This administration is seen as weak, and stumbling here and abroad.

Dependency on Government has increased 25% under what some call the food stamp president. What was the last time anything like that happened????????? The CARTER era.

747, you seem to be a little off on some of your facts.

Firstly, Republicans currently control the HOUSE of Representatives, not the Senate, and the Democrats have 53 seats right now.

Secondly, Obama did not have COMPLETE control of the government from 2009-2011, yes he had majorities, but not a super majority in the Senate since the Republicans were able to filibuster anything they didn't like (which they did at times) since the Democrats had less than 60 members.

Obama did things that I didn't agree with. For example, the $787 billion stimulous in 2009 (aka the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) had only 1/3 go to tangible projects that created jobs. The other 2/3 went to pet projects and to local governements to pay their bills. I understand the local government assistance, but congressman paked in their goodies, and Obama signed it to avoid a fight.

The economy during the first two years of a presidency basically are out of the hands of the current president, since most of the policies in place take time to work and/or change. So Obama was given crisis after crisis that was not of his own doing.

This chart says it all (Red was under Bush, Blue is under Obama):

It took the U.S. at least a decade to get themselves out of the Great Depression, so it is going to take time for us to get out of the Great Recession.

It is sad to think that over half of America is asleep or blind to what is truly happening to our country. We have been led to believe that we can not live together because she's a republican, he's a democrat, there atheists, there christians, he's black, I am white, ect. What has happened to us? They are intentionally dividing us. Why can't we come together as Democrats, Republicans, Mormons, Christians, Catholics, Jews, Atheists, or whatever, NOT to agree on everything or to force our views on everyone, but to have respect for each other. We can't even have an open discussion any more. Its Obama bashing republicans, republicans bashing Obama over and over again. ENOUGH ALREADY. Let us unite on our principles and try to be descent people. Our issues in America transcend politics and Washington D.C. We have allowed them to become who they are, which is liars, thiefs, and prideful, ignorant individuals. It is really sad because I do not believe in America anymore, I want to but can't. I believe most Americans feel lost or like they can make no difference as I feel. We are a country divided, lost of our basic values and principles. For example, just take a look at this video...

(WARNING: it is graphic and very disturbing)
They are beating up a gay guy because he doesn't belong in the "hood."

Or try this one.

I could post more, however it only allow for me to post two.

Makes me sick. How did we become this type of country? What has happened to us? Our problems CAN NOT be solved in Washington. It is up to us. I don't know, maybe its just me, but you can no longer deny that that our country is broke and it is up to us to fix it.

Anyway, I am just venting a little bit of my frustration.

I am not implying that you guys are being disrespectful toward each other. I think you were having a open discussion. I was just trying to get the point across that our problems are much greater than we believe.

It's sad that you said:
"It is really sad because I do not believe in America anymore, I want to but can't."

It's JUST politics....it's not better or worse than before no matter what you hear EVERY cycle. It's the same as always.
That's why I'm not sure why anyone takes it personally, politicians don't, so why should you.
They only reason I said anything is for balance because most jabs here are at conservative issues.

I believe in America so that is something we disagree on.
