Of course. Healthcare reformation has done nothing for us. Other than reform healthcare, right Michelle?

Other than that, no more political ranting from me.

He has reformed healthcare and implemented a huge stimulus programme, and what has that done? Other than leave the U.S. with crippling debts?

I'm fascinated to know how his changes have aided the U.S.? His bank-reform policy was much criticised, his foreign affairs stance... questioned.

mhh - what should he have changed in your point of view?

GO BULGARIA!!!! GO SLOVAKIA!!!!

"It's the economy, stupid.. not healthcare"

Job creation and job security should have been his focus. But he was too interested in reforming healthcare (they spent weeks and weeks discussing it) .. and in doing this, will have handed him a crushing defeat come tonight. With his Generals, Reid and Pelosi sidelined... one sacked by the people, the other shut up.

Trying to reform health-care when you're coming out of a recession was too risky.
I agree that something needed to be done with regards to expensive health-care costs, but you choose your time wisely. And, the majority (according to every poll conducted on the issue) think it was a mistake.

If the American people loved this 'healthcare agenda' and it was doing things for them, why are the Dems expecting massive losses? Right.

I agree with most everything in the Der Spiegal articale, and I have high confidence in America's innovation and bright future.

I have another approach - I think he had to do that first, since he required the majority of the democrats - the other changes are easier to make...

This year is just the pengilum swinging back to realign Americans political tolerances. We are pretty much a country with a 50/50 split with conservative leanings.

I by no means think Obama has "failed". He has only been in office a mere 19 months.

... I am "glad" you "like" it - by the way - maybe I should explain the title of the article, since it is a kind of pun in German

The German name of the USA is: die "Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika" (United States of America) - the German word for "Desperate" is "Verzweifelt" - the words "Vereinigte" and "Verzweifelte" are quite similar - therewith the title the "Desperate States of America" is a pun in German on "United States of America"

Obama hasn't "failed" he's only half-way through his term, he's disappointed ohh so many people though. The Obamania was real and palpable, the day of his inauguration, I can't tell you the number of people who were spouting "it's finally morning in America again", I was like he needs to do something.

And, Ohh boy did he do something, his health care "reform" which should be called the "Private health insurance profit improvement" act, hands over America to private corporations/ Unfortunately for Obama or probably fortunately for Americans the Federal Government does not have the authority to impose the "individual mandate." Imagine, the precedence the Federal Government can require citizens to purchase something from a private company and then fine/tax you if you don't comply, that's just another stepping stone down a road to a bad place.

I trust Columbus far more than I trust DC, and any party that either blocks/slows/stops DC's progression, is fine with me. Ohio offices I voted Democrat, Federal I did not vote Democrat.
