Lake Placid's main concern will be housing for the nearly 2,000 studtheltes, officials, etc. I mean in 1980, they had that new 'prison' which served as the Village for what is essentially, still a village. So to host anything like that again, the little village will need accomodations closeby for such an influx of people.

I see this primarily as evidence that the USOC is really looking to play ball and build bridges w/ the IOC. (How's that for a mixed metaphor?)
