Yeah, politics has always been a part of the Olympics...it really isn't a new development. I mean, if politics never played a part, Chicago would have hosted the 1904 Olympics. It was only moved to St Louis because the organizer of the Exposition there was threatening to schedule his own sporting event if they weren't.
