the guy in that video said that you would apply for 10 days - I am not sure if I want to be a volunteer when I attend Olympic GAmes for the first time - since 10 days is a long time...

10 days is the minimum you have to say you can do plus 3 sessions of training. Its quite a commitment.

That video is funny, Eddie Izzard is a good choice of spokesman, I hope they use him more, theres something very British about him

Just found out a family friend of ours is moving over to London for the next 2 years. Looks like I have just found my accommodation...

Places to stay won't be a problem for me: between my father-in-law, my husband's best man and several VANOC friends working for LOCOG I'm sorted for accommodation.

I've got my name in as a Games maker--didn't solicite any precodes because I wanted to see what happened as just a regular volunteer. I think it's great the volunteer commitment's been lowered to 10 days: 13 days in Vancouver was too much for a 17 day OWG.

But in the end it's the airfare that might decide for me: in summer a flight to LHR runs about 1500CA$ at the cheapest on a scheduled carrier. Ouch!

Yea that is a problem for Vancouver. London almost year-round from Toronto is about 700 to 900 dollars. Though it shifts from Air Transat in the summer to some of the American airlines like AA and US Airways. Usually during the down season even BA and Air France are in the mid 900's.
