The EC were open yesterday evening with a show in the city center of Barcelona - the events start in one hour...

Is that people flying through the air on harnesses at an OC? If so Albertville and Sydney have a lot to be guilty/proud of

Is it just me -- or is the stadium even emptier than during most of the days of the 2009 World Championships in Berlin? It's evening and even the lower tier of the Estadi Olimpic is not completely filled. And the upper tier is almost completely empty. I guess that athletics is more and more becoming a fringe sport.

Especially regarding that the Estadi Olimpic is not an enormously big stadium (at this ECH, it seats only 32,000 spectators -- besides all the media and VIP folks).

I recognised the many empty seats too

the WC last year in Berlin were just fantastic and it convinced me that I will be in London 2012 and I would love to be in Barcelona right now...

I didn't know him until tonight. But I read in Wikipedia that he recently became the first white runner who ran the 100 metres in less than 10 seconds? That is remarkable, for such a skinny guy. He looks very different from the "common sprinter". I would rather expect him on the long distances.

yeah - the 100m were amazing!!!

I agree he looks skinny, but I think his upper body only - just take a look on his legs and butt...

The German team hasn't really done good so far - or better said not as good as it was hoped.

I think the french team is really performing good - I wonder why the french athletes didn't perform in Berlin last year like they perform in Barcelona now - where had they been?
