korean winter sports? they excel in speed skating (short and long) and was fortunate they have kim yu-na this season. w/o yu-na all their medals were from 1 sport.

well, that's more than other 'developing' countries. One has to start somewhere.

How many did Spain get? Or say, Argentina?

well, you kinda belittlted their winter medals. And I'm saying would you apply the same standards to Spain which is also gunning for a Winter Games (or anything that comes its way) down the line? How many winter medals did Japan have before its first winter hosting in 1972?

you called that belittling? its a fact! at least japan has medalled in both snow and ice events. with korea since they first stepped on the podium in 1992 its all in short track speed skating. i'm still not happy with the roy jones debacle of seoul to this date as well to add. they should be thankful they have yu-na so they finally have a bit of diversity. give to germany far more deserving to host f*ck geography. you never sacrifice a good bid just for the sake of an area who hasn't hosted.

I disagree. The Olympics are all about spreading the Games around. Technically to me, the Munich plan isn't all that great compared to PC's. Besides, the years ending in "8" are reserved for Asia anyway.

BULLSH!T.... just because the last few "8" games has gone to Asia doesn't mean it will go to PC. Besides PC will always be 2nd rank, and i mean that. No way is PC superior to Munich. Munich is way above this Korean hopeful, not only in terms of facilities but also in sporting culture. As i repeat, i do not subscribe to the philosophy of spreading the games when there are better bids around.

Whether you subscribe to it or not, it IS a factor - and an important one for significant sectors within and without the IOC. I really, really want Munich to win myself, but it would be foolish to write off PC as anything but a very strong contender, and possible favourite, in this campaign so far.

they were also favorite in 2014. if they 2018 they'll be for me the most undeserving winner. sorry to the koreans but i'm not at your side. you also have a convicted fellon (even if pardonned) working with your bid. again an olympics should be awarded to the best candidate and not to the city that built the most number of brand new venues.

well, regardless of how strongly you feel, it DOESN'T always work out that way. ROTATION IS a very strong factor. And after 3 attempts, and Munich already having been a summer host, I really don't see how PC can be denied a 3rd time. Munich could wait its turn.
