I'm heading to Sun Peaks Ski Resort tomorrow for a day of sking. For those of you that don't know, Sun Peaks has been the training ground for the Austrian Ski Team for the last 4 or 5 years. If they're still on the hill practicing for next week I'll try and get a few photos.

Also, Sun Peaks is the home of Canadian Olympian Nancy Greene. Nancy is the ski director there. I had a chance to ski with her a few years ago. Really nice lady, had a good chat with her on the chairlift. If she's on the hill I might ski with her again, but I think she is probably in Vancouver or Whistler as she is probably involved in some way with the games.

Didn't get any photos as there was fog hanging right on the practice course. Also, looked like it was Canadians practicing, saw the yellow and red outfits. They were practicing downhill as there weren't any gates setup. Nancy Greene wasn't on the hill, she was down in Vancouver already, and I'm wondeing if she'll be the one that lights the cauldron. I think she makes more sense than Gretzky. Here's a pic of the clouds/fog that was hanging on the hill. That's the Sunburst chair disappearing into the fog.

This sucks. There seems to be fog on every ski hill this year. Went to Mt. Baldy; fog. Went to Apex; fog in the afternoon. The ski hill where I work; lots of fog. And now on Whistler; fog. Grrr, we need better weather.

Where is Sun Peaks?
There's a little hill 60mi. From LA called Mt Baldy, it's very good when it snows a lot, but REALLY slow lifts.

p.s.what's the snow like at Whistler Village base, is it heavy....moist??

Sun Peaks is about a 45 min drive northeast of Kamloops. It's a great hill. Our Mt. Baldy is located 37 kms east of Oliver. It's about a 2 hour drive from here (Kelowna).
