IMO they weren't that amazing. Wasn't buying the "super friendly-welcoming Cariocas love foreign visitors", pretty lame. Actors were terrible, making corny happy faces and chewing the scenery....it was all very Olympics stereotype bulls**t, nothing new.

Nothing in Rio bid is good in your opinion... NOTHING
It's just amazing how Rio won and got 66 votes...

You are biased... and still angry USA didn't make it against a poor-fullofmonkeys-underdeveloped-bananas-nonEnglishspeakers country...

GBForums have been boring lately... Miss the good discussions and points. The nice follow-ups on buildings and so on...
Now we have only chat with trolls or weeks without the old good boys posting...
So I'm giving a break, but I'll be back soon. Meanwhile I'll be around in SkyScrapercity, where no trolling and city vs. city is allowed.

Ask Moutawakel... She cried with the clip... Maybe the clip was not for americans watching it on TV...
But for those who actually votes.

And the carioca-friendly-welcoming-visitors is just like that in real life.

Hey, Stirthesoul,

You must come to Rio and feel the city by yourself. Of course there were stereotypes. Sell and buy, don´t forget, as Baron used to point. As we say here, some things were "para inglês ver", just to present what Rio intended people would like to see. But the most part is Rio as it is.
