KOC Submits Official PyeongChang 2018 Bid To IOC
The Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) has submitted an official bid for the city of PyeongChang to host the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, reports Yonhap.
A statement attached to the application says, "it is an honor to submit the application to the International Olympic Committee in support of the South Korean government and the KOC. PyeongChang will do its best to host the most successful ever Winter Olympic Games".
PyeongChang is expected to compete against Munich, Germany and Annecy, France, with Harbin, China also interested in bidding.
It's PyeongChang's third attempt to host the Winter Games having lost to Vancouver and Sochi.
