Munich 2018 Expect To Receive All Financial Guarantees Needed

Following a DPA article that said Munich's bid for the 2018 Olympic Games has been told there will be no government finance to help cover the costs of its candidacy, a spokesman for the bid told GamesBids.com that the German Government is fully supporting the bid and "we are about to receive all guarantees needed from the different authorities to ensure that the requests made by (the) IOC can be fulfilled in case Munich becomes 2018 Host City".

The spokesman said although the German Government is financially not involved in the bid, it was never foreseen and therefore not a surprise or a setback since the German Government is not a stakeholder in Munich's bid.
