Munich 2018 Gets Domestic Support
Munich's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games has received support from the German District Councils. The Presidium of the German District Councils, head of the local association for 56 million citizens, voted unanimously for Munich's 2018 Olympic bid.
The association praised the bid and believes that through the emphasis on sustainability and coupled to the event infrastructure, "the venues will be strengthened in its tourism function".
Willy Bogner, CEO of Munich 2018 said, "we are pleased that the German County Association supporting our vision of the future and environmentally friendly Winter Games. The support of all political levels and the enthusiasm of the entire German population are of crucial importance for the success of the application. The resolution stresses that the application is a national concern".
