Following Annecy's status as a Candidate City for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, the first guarantee letters were signed this week by hotels in the area to confirm their prices and availability should Annecy host the 2018 Games.

On July 1st an inter-ministerial meeting was held in Paris led by French Prime Minister Francois Filion's staff, and in the presence of representatives of the 12 Ministers the State's resources were put at the service of Annecy 2018.

On the agenda were the preparations of the guarantees that will go in the Bid Book.

There has also been a series of meetings between Annecy 2018 and those involved in the mountain and winter sports. Thursday the committee met with the directors of the Savoie-Mont-Blanc resorts and ski venues where a dozen World Cup events will be held during the 2010-2011 season. Organizers expressed their strong support for the bid.

Friday the committee continues to mobilize the sporting world when they meet with more than 100 athletes from France's national ski teams.
