Rio 2016 Chooses Logo
The Associated Press reports Rio 2016 organizers have selected the logo for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, but the winning logo won't be unveiled until an official ceremony New Year's eve on Copacabana beach.
The logo's design was chosen from eight finalists Thursday and will now be sent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for approval.
Carlos Arthur Nuzman, Rio 2016 president, said "a historic" phase of the Games has been concluded and that the logo will be successful and "please all".
Twelve judges, including Nuzman, selected by Rio 2016, took part in the process.
