IOC Olympic Forum In Sochi
International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge arrived in Sochi Sunday to attend a six-day conference where more than 600 representatives of national Olympic and Paralympic movements around the world are discussing aspects of the Olympic Games.
The IOC President will also discuss the preparations for the Sochi 2014 Winter Games with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, and the official results of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games.
Following his arrival in Sochi, Rogge visited the Olympic Park along with several officials.
He observed the progress that's been made in constructing the Bolshoi Ice Palace and was shown the design of the Maly Ice Palace.
Rogge was joined by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and Sochi 2014 CEO and President Dmitry Chernyshenko at the Sochi Olympic Skating Center, a venue in the Coastal Cluster. This facility is one of three movable Sochi 2014 venues. After the Games the venue will be transported to another part of Russia as part of Sochi 2014's sporting legacy.
Monday Rogge opened a plenary session of the Debriefing in Krasnaya Polyana on advancing the organization and staging the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Attending the international forum are IOC and IPC members, and representatives of London 2012, Sochi 2014, Rio 2016 and international sports federations.
