Sochi 2014 Brand Launch Changed
The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee announced Sunday that as a mark of respect for the 25 people that died, and others that were injured in Friday’s Nevsky Express train derailment, the program of the Sochi 2014 Olympic brand launch has been modified and the celebratory aspect on Monday has been cancelled.
The launch has now been moved to Tuesday December 1 at 11 a.m. Moscow Time at a press conference with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Moscow.
Video of the event will be streamed live at http://www.sochi2014.ru/.
Closed doors concerts in Red Square and Sochi will be recorded and broadcast in the coming days, said a Sochi 2014 press release.
Those that will be attending the launch Tuesday include Dmitry Chernyshenko, President and CEO of Sochi 2014, Jacques Rogge, IOC President, Jean Clause Killy, IOC Coordination Commission Chairman and Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
