Madrid Has Good Chance Of 2012 Or 2028 Games Says Official
Former Undersecretary For Sports Rafael Cortes Elvira, speaking on the opening day of the 20th Sports and Communication Course at the Faculty of Media Studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid said, “Madrid has embarked on an Olympic journey and has done a magnificent job of it. It’s the first time it has presented its candidacy in a serious way and Barcelona did this five times. It could get the Games in 2012 or 2028 but either way it will happen, because Madrid has a good chance of getting them”.
Jesus Hermida, another former Undersecretary For Sports said, “Madrid has presented a good candidacy. It has wanted to host the Games for a long time but there was never such a serious and universal effort”.
Former Undersecretary For Sports Roma Cuyas added that Madrid has a “great advantage” with respect to Barcelona because “whether it wins or not, the infrastructure will be built and the citizens will be able to enjoy them”. Write or read comments about this article
