Baseball To Fight For Olympic Inclusion
USA Today reports International Baseball Federation president Riccardo Fraccari says he will fight to get baseball back into the Olympics by working to change the perception that it is solely an American sport.
He said Tuesday, while attending the SportAccord International Convention in Dubai, that he also sees great potential to expand in parts of Europe as well as Africa and the Middle East, where Iraq and Iran have approached him about investing in the sport.
Fraccari said he will also work with softball to team up on a joint bid in 2013.
The two sports were dropped from the Olympics following the Beijing 2008 Games.
