World Squash Federation President N Ramachandran says squash is the most deserving of the seven sports competing for Olympic inclusion and should get the nod for the 2016 Games.

He said Sunday, "the 34-member Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) meeting in Berlin on August 13 and 14 will take a decision on two of the seven sports making the Olympics and the IOC AGM to be held in October in Copenhagen will further confirm their inclusion".

He told a press conference squash would be facing a "tough challenge" from golf which was also bidding to be included in the Olympic Games.

Ramachandran said, "we have answered al the queries posed by IOC when we submitted our bid to it at Lausanne along with four top squash players including world number one Nicole David".

He added the WSF had also highlighted the fact to the IOC that squash has a world champion in both the men's and women's sections from each region of the IOC administration.

The top 20 squash players in the world have assured the IOC that they would all represent their respective countries in the Games if squash was included in the Olympic movement.
