Squash 2016 delegate Vijay Gajjar, President of the Squash Federation of Africa, will be attending the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) General assembly in Abuja, Nigeria next week to promote its bid for inclusion in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Squash has a strong presence in Africa, said a press release, with the men's world number one, three and four coming from Egypt, but the sport is looking to further its reach across the continent.

Gajjar will be holding meetings with the NOCs of the region to assess the challenges in Africa with regard to the development and growth of squash. The press release says through a series of meetings and discussions, the ANOCA General Assembly will enable squash to continue to promote the sport and get more people participating in it.
