Fiftieth Anniversary Of Rome Olympics Promotes 2020 Bid

During the 50th anniversary celebrations of the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome there will be a variety of activities taking place ahead of the city's bid for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

The 1960 Rome Games were the first Summer Olympics to be commercially broadcast.

A delegation of figures from the Italian National Olympic Committee and other relevant organizations appeared at a ceremony Wednesday.

Several events in Rome, including a re-lighting of the Olympic flame, are planned over the next couple of weeks.
