While Durban said it wants to represent South Africa in a bid for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, Cape Town city council said the city shouldn't get too excited about bidding even though confidence is high in the wake of the World Cup.

Independent Online quotes Cape Town city spokesperson Peter Cronje saying, "we feel the decision should not be based on emotion. There's a big difference between the Olympics and the World Cup. One is held throughout the country and the other is held in one city".
