U.S. President Barack Obama has come and gone after giving an eight minute speech during Chicago 2016's presentation to the International Olympic Committee, and now Chicago is getting ready to party - maybe.

Banners are up and an inflatable medal is draped around the city's Picasso statue in the Daley Plaza downtown, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Thousands are expected to gather to find out if Chicago gets the 2016 Summer Games.

Jumbo TV screens are being set up in the plaza so people can watch live from Copenhagen when the IOC announces the 2016 host city in just a few hours.
