Chicago 2016 Delegation Travels To Asian Games

A delegation from Chicago 2016 will travel to Singapore to attend the 2009 Asian Youth Games June 29 to July 7.

The delegation includes Doug Arnot, Director of Sport, Venues and Operations.

The bid committee is attending the Youth Games to support the young athletes and promote Chicago's bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016 said, "the Asian Youth Games are a wonderful chance to young people to take part in sport and international competition. At Chicago 2016 and World Sport Chicago we think that sport can be a true agent of social change, and we strive to promote the ideals of fair play, teamwork, respect and leadership to young people throughout the world".

The 2009 Asian Games will feature more than 1,000 athletes from 42 Asian countries competing in 10 sports.
