Phelps On Line To Support Chicago 2016

Olympic medallist and Chicago 2016 committee member Michael Phelps is in Chicago Wednesday talking about his Beijing Olympic experiences with the public via a live-streaming video interview and web chat. According to a Chicago 2016 press release Phelps will participate in a real-time discussion with viewers on the Chicago 2016 Channel (www.Chicago2016Channel.com) about the Beijing Games and Chicago hosting the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Chicago 2016 Chairman and CEO Patrick G. Ryan said, "there is no more suitable person to help inspire Americans about the Olympic experience and ideals than our own history-making Olympic champion Michael Phelps. We appreciate Michael sharing his Olympic experiences with us and welcome his insights and leadership into how the Games can return to the United States in 2016".

According to a press release the new Chicago 2016 Channel hosts the "Why Chicago" video challenge and provides an opportunity for all supporters of Chicago's Olympic bid to express themselves and become part of the effort.

It is home to a variety of content submitted by bid supporters, as well as custom content produced by a cross-section of "rising stars from Chicago's creative community" and is continually updated with bid-related videos, blogs and podcasts.
