Doha 2020 To Unveil Bid Logo, Website Launch
Doha 2020 announces it will unveil its bid logo and slogan in Doha on February 10 at the annual community fun day event Wheels n' Heels, which promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyles in Qatar.
The official Doha 2020 bid website will also be launched that day.
Noora al-Mannai, CEO of Doha 2020 said, "the unveil of our bid logo and slogan and the launch of the new website are all important building blocks in our bid to host the first ever Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Arab world.
"Our Applicant File is also now in the very final stages of production. We are proud of its content and the hosting plans and legacy vision it contains, and look forward to making its contents public next month after it is submitted to the IOC", adding "our bid seeks to use the Olympics as a nationwide effort to encourage our people to be active, healthy and undefeated by hosting the world's most unifying of events".
Meanwhile work on the Doha metro project will be accelerated due to the bid, an executive of the company overseeing the Gulf Arab state's $40 billion rail network said Monday.
Phase 1A of the Doha Metro will be ready by 2019, in time for the Olympics, if Qatar's bid is successful.
