Sochi 2014 Mascot Competition Launched

Sochi 2014 launched a nation wide competition in Russia to design a mascot for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The competition runs from September 1 until December 5, 2010.

Applicants are asked to submit their ideas for a Sochi 2014 mascot by mail to the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee or post them at www.talisman.sochi2014.com.

The chosen mascot should reflect the national and cultural peculiarities of Russia and evoke positive feelings.

An expert panel made up of film makers, animators, artists, cultural workers, marketing experts and athletes, will choose the finalists December 6-15, and the official mascot will be chosen February 7, 2011 in a live, televised broadcast by a nation wide vote.

The winner will receive two tickets in the VIP section of the Sochi 2014 Opening Ceremony, and other prizes.
