London 2012 Ticket Sale Schedule

Tickets for the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games will go on sale March 15, while tickets for the Paralympic Games go on sale September 9, once the prices are confirmed.

There will be 6.6 million tickets available to the public for the Olympics, and applicants will have six weeks to apply for tickets at any point. Tickets will be on sale for six weeks through April 26 to residents of Britain and some European countries. Those in other countries will have to purchase them through their local Olympic committee or its authorized ticket reseller.

After the deadline all oversubscribed sessions will be allocated by ballot.

Lord Sebastian Coe, chair of London 2012 said, "our message today is simple - mark the date in your diary and sign up to our ticketing site at www.tickets.london2012.com to receive all the information you need to help you with the purchase".

The 6.6 million tickets range in price from $31 for standard events to a symbolic 2,012 pounds or $3,105 for the best seats at the Opening Ceremony.

Full details of the purchasing process and the finalized schedule for all 650 sport sessions will be announced in February.

Two million people have signed up to the ticketing database. They will receive information about how to apply and will be able to use their existing log-in details to access the application process.

Further details of the application process for Paralympic tickets will be announced later this year.

Tickets for the London 2012 Festival events go on sale this fall.
