Bankruptcy Won’t Impact Vancouver 2010 – GM

The Associated Press reports that General Motors filing for bankruptcy protection will have "no impact" on its sponsorship of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Stew Low, a spokesman for General Motors in Canada, said GM's financial woes won't have an impact on the company's sponsorship commitments to the Vancouver Games, which is more than $60 million, mostly in the form of cars and trucks, but about $12 million is in cash.

GM is reportedly not saying how much the company has already given Olympic organizers, or how much is yet to come.
