London 2012 - Torch Relay, Volunteers

The London 2012 Olympic Flame will be lit May 10 at the Temple of Hera in Olympia,

The Flame will embark on an eight-day relay around the Greek mainland and islands before arriving at the Panathenaic Stadium on May 17 for the official Olympic Flame Handover Ceremony.

After its arrival in the UK on May 18, the flame will travel around the UK for 70 days from May 19 to July 27.

Meanwhile about 10,000 London 2012 volunteers and employees attended the first orientation training event Friday at Wembley arena.

It's the first of six national orientation events before the Games open July 27.

According to London 2012 organizers, about 70 per cent of the trainees at each session would come from the estimated 70,000 Games' volunteers.
