Animators in St. Petersburg Russia are completing a cartoon series about a baby mammoth, one of the possible mascots for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
The team reportedly plans to create around 100 short episodes about a mammoth calf that falls asleep after taking part in pre-historic animal Olympic Games and wakes up in the 21st century to find out that Sochi is the host of the 2014 Winter Games.
The team hopes that the series will help promote the image of the mammoth as a possible mascot for the 2014 Games.
The official Sochi 2014 mascot is to be announced in 2011. Write or read comments about this article
