The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved Madrid’s 2016 Olympic bid logo Wednesday. Now that Madrid’s bid committee has fulfilled every step necessary, the logo will be officially unveiled Monday at the Satellite Pavilion of the Telefonica Arena Madrid.

In September Madrid 16 announced the logo named “Corle” was the winner of a contest held to select a Madrid 2016 logo.

The official presentation will be presided over by Madrid’s Mayor Albert Ruiz-Gallardon and Mercedes Coghen, CEO of Madrid 16. Several sports figures will also be in attendance.

Following the logo’s unveiling and during Madrid’s tenure as an Applicant City, which lasts until June 2008, the Madrid 16 bid committee will be able to use its logo under the Rules of Conduct applicable to all the cities participating in the bid, but only within the national territory.
