Prague To Make Official 2016 Olympic Bid
A Czech Republic website reports that Prague Mayor Pavel Bem and Milan Jirasek, President of the Czech Olympic Committee (COV), will sign the official declaration Tuesday on Prague’s intention to bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
At the same time Prague’s logo will also be presented in the Mayor’s residence, said Tomas Petera, head of the Prague Olympic Committee.
A letter written in Czech, English and French written on hand-made paper decorated with the emblems of Prague and the COV has already been prepared and will be sent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne by September 13.
In March the Mayor told a news conference “we will not be favoured to win the Games in 2016, but despite that we will shoot for it to raise our chances for a candidacy in 2020”. Write or read comments about this article
