The London 2012 Road Show begins July 6 when a 2012 Road Show bus visits more than 50 locations in towns and cities across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, bringing them the latest news on progress made for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the last 12 months, as well as future plans.

The bus will travel across the country and will stop in a variety of locations including major cities, 2012 venues, and sports events.

There will also be a strong focus on tourism benefits, the Cultural Olympiad which runs from 2008 to 2012, and volunteering at the Games.

Sebastian Coe, Chairman of London 2012, will be on the bus visiting several venues around the country as will Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell.

As part of the Road Show Jowell will be hosting an economic benefits conference in Leeds on July 19 which 300 business representatives will attend. The conference will explore the wider economic benefits for the country from the 2012 Games.

Meanwhile the three-minute promotional film used to portray London 2012’s Olympic and Paralympic Games is being turned into a full-length feature film.

According to its director Daryl Goodrich “it will be an inspirational ‘feel-good’ film”.

The film, Legend of the Rings, is intended for release to coincide with the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Write or read comments about this article
