New York 2012 Expects To Match London and Paris In IOC Evaluation

Reports from London press today have been suggesting that Paris and London will be the top bids in the IOC technical evaluation report to be released on Monday. An Olympic source says that the two bids will be hard to choose between.

But New York officials insist they're at the top too.

NYC2012 Executive Director Jay Kriegel said “Today’s press reports out of London are an absolute fabrication. We fully expect that the IOC’s Evaluation Report, which will be released tomorrow, will conclude that New York’s bid is just as strong technically as Paris or London. The major concern will be, as we’ve long known, the approval of the stadium.”

A vote on the approval of New York's Olympic stadium has been scheduled for Monday, following the release of the report. Friday's meeting was cancelled at the last minute and reports suggest that talks have been held over the weekend to ensure that the stadium vote will pass.
